Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker…

keep-calm-because-i-m-back-107-e1409769696879After a hiatus of over two years, I am back to my blog…I have continued to pay the fee to keep the domain name lisavandore.com (as if anyone else would want it…any other Lisa Van Dores out there?).  But as you might guess from the revised home page, the focus of my blog is changing…in the course of the last 2+ years I have gone from personal trainer to real estate agent…keeping life interesting, challenging and always changing.  I have debated about what to do with the old posts, and have decided for now to keep them…they still present good, relevant information, things I still believe in.  Just because I am now selling real estate doesn’t mean I don’t care about exercise or nutrition anymore.

I will admit to being a bit nervous about getting back to blogging…it represents a weekly commitment to not only coming up with interesting, relevant content, but then actually writing in a coherent fashion about it.  And I know it will take me some time to remember how to navigate wordpress (my blog is hosted by wordpress even though you only need to type in “lisavandore.com” to arrive here).  I am sure in the 2+ years I have been away much has changed…so bear with me as I get back up to speed.

As much as I enjoyed writing about fitness and nutrition, I am just as excited to write about real estate and the home.  Who doesn’t love their home (if you don’t, email me and I will help you find a new one!)?  IS17y16ptil6mf0000000000While I want to share information about the real estate market and my listings, I also want to write about anything related to lifestyle and the home…decorating, landscaping, DIY, recipes, fashion, travel, things to do…anything that you might find interesting.  Because the reality is, most of you are not in the market to buy or sell a home right now.  So why would you want to read a blog of my real estate listings and my open houses…yawn.  My goal with my blog is to (as before) write about things I love, things that interest me, and that I hope will interest you.  Who knows, I might even write about fitness and nutrition on occasion…why not?

I hope you will begin to follow my blog (you can click on the “follow” link if you want to be notified when I post a new blog, probably a few times a week) or my Facebook real estate page (where I will post links to my blog among other things) or my Pinterest page (do you love Pinterest as much as I do?) or connect with me on Linkedin.  I always appreciate comments and suggestions.  Is there something you would like to know, a question you may have, something you would like me to write about?  Feel free to email me, message me on Facebook or add a comment to a blog post (note that your comment will not appear on the website until I “approve” it…therefore if you want to message me without having your comment made public, just let me know…this is my blog and I am all powerful).

Thanks for reading, for checking back…I look forward to sharing all kinds of fun stuff with you!

P.S. Check out my new “About Me” page…there’s a cute picture of my dog Ollie!

About Lisa Van Dore

I have lived in Sherborn, Dover and most recently North Walpole, for a total of 15 years (and counting). Having recently been through the process of selling a home and buying (and renovating) a new one, I understand the conflicting emotions of excitement and anxiety inherent in the process, whether you are a seller or buyer, whether this is your first home purchase or your tenth. I have a BA from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Indiana University. My early career found me working as a CPA, and later as the controller of Crate & Barrel. More recently I spent seven years running my own personal training business. I understand the hard work and dedication necessary to build a business and a reputation...most of my personal training clients came to me by referral and my first client was still with me when I decided to leave personal training. This speaks to the level of effort I put forth for my clients, week after week. On a more personal note, I raced triathlon for seven years and more recently completed my first half marathon. In my free time I enjoy cooking, reading, Maine, hiking and, in the fall, following college football...my teams are the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and Texas Christian University (Go Frogs!).
